Three Kings Day Celebration 2007

This year Latinas Unidas, in collaboration with Partners in Community and the North Clinton Avenue Business Association celebrated the Three Kings Day with the children and neighbors from Los Flamboyanes, an apartment complex at North Clinton Avenue, by La Avenida.

The children enjoyed drawing in their coloring books until it was time for story-teller Annette Ramos to read the story. The Three Kings entered the room as the children gathered around.

After the story, the Three Kings greeted the children and gave away candy. Then we served dinner with the customary and savory pernil y arroz con gandules (baked ham leg with prepared rice) and cake.

We enjoyed the event with friends and family, among them Mayor Robert Duffy, Angelo Carballo, Keyra Sanchez (from Partners in Community), Angelo Vasquez (President of Los Flamboyanes Residents Association), and reporters from Channel 13 and the Democrat & Chronicle.

We thank our Three Kings for this year: the city's commissioner of community development, Julio Vazquez; Sgt. Carlos Garcia of the Rochester Police Department and Sen. Joseph Robach, R-Greece, as well as the neighbors at Los Flamboyanes.
