Name: Daisy Rivera Algarin
Board Position: President

Daisy Rivera Algarin is an Economic Development Marketing Specialist-Bilingual Spanish for the City of Rochester. In her role, Daisy provides outreach, technical, and zoning support to small businesses. In addition, she is part of the planning team for the North Clinton Avenue revitalization project. She has serve in her current role since June 2000.
Economic Development makes available, technical assistance to city business seeking loans, grants and demographic and pre-development information.
Daisy has also served in different capacities with Latinas Unidas. She was part of the Latinas Unidas Founding Team, and for several years she was Chair of the Latinas Unidas Steering Committee.
She is married to Albert Algarin and has 3 chidren.
Name: Ruth N. Colon
Board Position: Vice President

Ruth Colon is Director of Finance and Administration at Wilson Commencement Park.
Ruth holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and has over 20 years of supervisory experience and an extensive experience in all aspects of Fiscal Management. Ruth completed Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt training and is a 1992 graduate of the United Way Latino Leadership Development Program.
Ms. Colon has served on the Latino Advisory Board of Home Care of Rochester as Treasurer, and on the Board of Directors of the Puerto Rican Youth Development (PRYD). Presently serves on the Finance Committee of Rochester Primary Care, and is an EOC, SUNY Brockport Board member.
Ruth Colon served as Treasurer on the Latinas Unidas Board of Directors during the previous term from 2009-2010.
Ruth is married, lives in Rochester since 1973, and has a son and a daughter.

Rosalie Rivera-Arzuaga has been in the banking industry for over 20 years. The last ten she has been a Community Development Mortgage Loan Officer at Citizens Bank.
Rosalie’s passion is to help people become homeowners and she has dedicated these last ten years to educating many low income first time homebuyers in the City of Rochester. She also serves on the board of NeighborWorks of Rochester and is the chair of their revolving loan Committee.
Rosalie lives in the town of Chili with her husband Robert Arzuaga of 15 years and their two daughters Lyanette and Leesa.

Peggy Martinez is an accomplished artist. Mostly self-taught, she attended many workshops with varios great nationally known artists. She has been painting in watercolors for over 10 years. Peggy has had an exhibition of her paintings at several local venues, including the Rochester City Hall during the celebration of the Hispanic Heritage Month.
Born in Rochester, raised in Rochester and Puerto Rico, Peggy is also a professional with 27 years of experience in the banking industry.
Peggy was the 2008 Reconocimiento Awards Luncheon Chairwoman and has been serving on the Latinas Unidas Board of Directors since 2009.
She lives in Rochester with her husband and two daughters.
Name: Rosemarie Gutierrez

Rosemarie Gutierrez is a New York City native who moved to Rochester about a decade ago. She entered the housing real estate market in 2002 and is a licensed Realtor and member of the Greater Rochester Association of Realtors. Currently, she is an agent with J Vincent Real Estate.
Ms. Gutierrez is a graduate from the Emerging Entrepreneurial Program from Monroe Community College, and a graduate of the United Way Latino Leadership Development Program. At the start of 2010, she used her entrepreneurial skills to create a consulting business that offers advice on social networking, marketing/advertising, branding, promoting, networking, event planning/coordinating and sales solutions to individuals, small businesses, and non-profit agencies.
Ms. Gutierrez also has made contributions to local organizations including the Latino Rotary Club, which she joined as a founding member in 2009. Every Friday and Saturday night, she also donates her time and social networking and marketing talents to La Nueva Era radio program on Jazz 90.1 FM.
She officially joined Latinas Unidas in 2008 and quickly jumped in to share her skills with the organization. She was the 2010 Reconocimiento Awards Luncheon Chairwoman. She is now one of its newest board members and will oversee its programs, Cafe con Leche and other networking ventures.
Gutierrez lives in East Irondequoit with her husband, Angel, of 9 years, their two children, Xena and Angel Jr and their family pet dog Tootie.

Melissa Rosario de Bailey is currently Product Marketing Manager at Alstom Transport - NA Signaling and manages her own catering company Queen B. Catering.
Ms. Rosario earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra, as well as a BS International Business and a MS Service Management from Rochester Institute of Technology.
Melissa is the Chair of the Latinas Unidas Marketing Committee.
