What Our Guest are Saying...
"Yesterday, a group of us attended the Latinas Unidas Reconocimiento Awards and were honorably inspired. It was a very well organized and thought out event. Ushers were very pleasant (Melisa was one of them!), volunteers at the registration table were very helpful, and the Board of Directors were very professional and warm (Daisy).
"Once in the banquet room there was an appreciation for things Latin, from people to objects. The tables were beautifully arranged with hand-made dolls representing various Latin countries and other tables (like ours) had tropical food arrangements. The City’s Latin flags were brilliantly displayed asymmetrically around the banquet room walls. Poster-size pictures of the four award recipients could be appreciated from behind the President’s table and the food was simply delectable (the coffee was nice and strong too).
"Even though the luncheon is in conjunction with the Latinas Unidas annual meeting, it was not boring or lengthy. We were actually entertained with student dancers (Esencia de Ritmo) and by genuine conversations. The City of Rochester’s reserved seating was actually adjacent to that of Marisol’s family. Not only were we proud of supporting one of our own, Marisol Ramos-López, but we also witnessed how the other 200 people in the room cheered her on. Norma Holland (13 WHAM) was the Mistress of Ceremony and the presenter of the Leadership Achievement Award to Marisol. She reiterated a few times how much she truly admires Marisol. County Executive, Maggie Brooks also spoke very highly of her and commanded her for her dedication and hard work through 2 different administrations.
"Once more we are grateful to the Neighborhood Business Development for the opportunity to be present in such a memorable and joyous occasion. We celebrate Marisol’s recognition and look forward to seeing an employee group picture taken with her by one of the LU members.
¡Adelante siempre!"
